Case Against Cricketer Sandeep Left 'Unseen'

Apr 28, Kathmandu- On Sunday, the High Court in Patan on a rape case involving cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane left 'Unseen'.

The case before the bench of Patan judges Dhir Bahadur Chand and Chandramani Gyawali has not been sent for consideration.

Lamichhane, who was found guilty of rape, filed an appeal on Falgun 10th against the decision made by Judge Shishirraj Dhakal of the Kathmandu District Court.

The Kathmandu court ruled that Sandeep had committed forced labor and sentenced him to eight years in prison, a fine of three lakhs and compensation of two lakh rupees. Sandeep went to the High Court against this decision. Similarly, against the decision of the District Court, the Office of the District Public Prosecutor has also appealed to the Patan High Court. The Patan High Court proceeded with the hearing of both the appeals simultaneously.
