Five Israeli Army Units Accused Of Human Rights Violations

Apr 30, Kathmandu- The US has accused five units of the Israeli army of human rights violations.

The US State Department has said that five units of the Israeli army have been found responsible for human rights violations. These human rights violations occurred prior to the October 7 attack, and the human rights violations reportedly took place outside the Gaza Strip.

Speaking to the media, the spokesperson of the US State Department said that four of the five units of the Israeli army accused of violating human rights have effectively violated them.

The American government is talking to the Israeli government about a fifth unit. The US has not disclosed how the human rights violations took place or which Israeli military units were involved.

The military conduct of the Israeli army has been investigated since the attack on Gaza. So far, 34,500 Palestinian civilians, including women and children, have been killed in the attack on Gaza. The Gaza Strip has been completely destroyed due to Israel's invasion and now there is a possibility of starvation.

In fact, the Leahy Law applies in the US, which was drafted by then-Senator Patrick Leahy in 1990. Under these rules, the US cannot provide military assistance to forces that commit human rights violations.

Israel carried out an airstrike on the Palestinian city of Rafah, in which 20 people were killed. After this, US President Joe Biden has put pressure on Israel for a ceasefire. However, Israel has refused to give a cease-fire without releasing the hostages.
