The power alliance will last till the next elections: Yogesh Bhattarai

May 05, Kathmandu- Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, the leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), has said that the political equation between the parties of the current government will continue till the next election. He said that there is a collective agreement and commitment to maintain the equation between the ruling parties until the next election.

Today, in a press conference organized by the Taplejung branch of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, he expressed his belief that the parties will proceed according to the commitment as the other option to form the government is not easy. He said that the current government should be sustained to follow them as the neighbouring countries are developing rapidly.

He said that although some suggested that the Congress and UML form a government together, the time for that has passed. He said that before supporting the current government, he tried to discuss with the Nepali Congress to control the worsening situation in the country, but since the Congress did not show readiness, he decided to support Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.

He informed that the large party UML joining the power will make the leadership of the government easier and will move forward by satisfying the disaffected parties. Although some say that the current equation is left-wing unity or polarization, he made it clear that this is not the case.

Regarding the fact that the Congress is demanding the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee regarding the issue of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane's cooperative dispute, he said that the parliamentary inquiry committee should not be used immediately as it is the last weapon.
