Rally In Israel Demanding The Release Of Gaza Hostages

May 05, Kathmandu- The Israeli citizens held a rally on Saturday night demanding the release of those held hostage by the Palestinian rebel group Hamas in Gaza.

Tens of thousands of Israelis have organised a rally demanding a cease-fire and the return of the hostages to their homeland, according to the BBC. It is mentioned in the news that the participants of the demonstration in Tel Aviv accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of wanting to prolong the war for his benefit.

The rally was organized when peace talks between Israel and Hamas began in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, for the release of hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza. It is mentioned in the news that there was no progress in the talks that started on Saturday, but the talks will continue on Sunday.

The Hamas team arrived in the capital of Egypt on Saturday for the talks that resumed with the mediation of Egypt and Qatar. It is said that a 40-day ceasefire has been proposed for negotiations.

On October 7, when Hamas attacked Israel, 1,200 people were killed and 240 people were taken hostage. According to the Ministry of Health run by Hamas, more than 34,000 people have died in the war that started in response to that.
