Bilateral Talks Between The Foreign Ministers Of Nepal And Japan

May 05, Kathmandu- A meeting was held between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa who is on a visit to Nepal. Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha informed that in the talks held at the ministry today between the foreign minister-level delegation, the issue of further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation was discussed.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister said that there was a discussion about strengthening the bilateral relations between Nepal and Japan and broadening the economic cooperative relations. "The two delegations also discussed various international matters", he said.

Shrestha made it clear that there was no agreement or understanding on any matter during the talks as it was an official goodwill visit by Japanese Foreign Minister Kamikawa.

Foreign Minister Khamikhawa arrived in Kathmandu this afternoon for an official visit to Nepal at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha. He was received by Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal at Tribhuvan International Airport.

This is Kamikawa's first visit to Nepal after being appointed as the foreign minister of Japan. During the visit, he had previously observed the palace area in Kathmandu.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, today he will have separate courtesy meetings with President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda. Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha will organize a dinner in his honor.

After completing his visit to Khamikhawa, Foreign Minister will leave for Japan tonight by Nepal Airlines.
