Terrorist Attack Threat At T20 World Cup

May 06, Kathmandu- IS Khorasan, a terrorist organization active in Pakistan-Afghanistan, has threatened to carry out terrorist attacks during the T20 World Cup.

The Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Keith Rowley, said that the terrorist organization sent video messages to many countries, including the West Indies.

The T20 World Cup will be held from June 2 to June 29 in West Indies and America.

Pro-Islamic State media have threatened violence at sporting events in several countries. The Afghanistan-Pakistan branch of IS Khorasan has released a video message through its propaganda channel Naseer-e-Pakistan. It appeals to the supporters to support the attacks on these countries.

Cricket West Indies CEO Johnny Grave said he was working closely with the authorities and that host countries and cities would remain under constant vigilance throughout the World Cup to deal with any potential threats.

West Indies World Cup matches will be played in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago. In America, the matches will be held in Florida, New York and Texas.

According to the report, there is no information about the threat of attack during the ongoing World Cup in America.
