Mayor Vidya Sundar Shakya has inaugurated the iron sky bridge constructed at Chabahil Chowk in Kathmandu.

Mayor Shakya cut the ribbon and inaugurated the iron sky bridge at Chabahil Chowk this morning. The 23-meter-long sky bridge was constructed by Kanchaman Construction Services at a cost of Rs 8.26 million.

According to Prem Bahadur Shrestha, designer engineer of Akash Bridge, the bridge can be moved from one place to another by opening the nutbolt of the bridge. The foundation stone of the bridge was laid on January 26, 2008.

After the construction of the sky bridge at Chabahid Chowk, one of the most frequent accidents in the capital, it has become easier to cross the road at the busy chowk of Chabahil and the number of road accidents will also come down in the coming days.
