Next Hearing Prioritizing Rabi Lamichhane's Case On Jestha 28

Jun 02, Kathmandu- The Supreme Court has stayed the decision of the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane to deploy those involved in road traffic violations including drink and drive.

On Sunday, the single bench of the Supreme Court Justice Til Prasad Shrestha issued an interim order with a show cause order while hearing the writ filed against the decision of Home Minister Lamichhane.

On the day of the Republic Day, Home Minister Lamichhane instructed the female traffic police not to be on duty on the roads till the 4th day of menstruation and those who were involved in road traffic violations including drink and drive to do duty on the roads.

On Friday, Krishna BK, Ravindra Paudel, Akash Kumar Bhatt, Prames Paudel, Ujjwal Mali, Emamul Haque and Raju Pariyar filed a writ against the decision.

Home Minister Lamichhane said that the drivers were parked on the road against the law, and there were protests from the road to the House.
