Recharge Through 'Topup' On Mobile

Jun 08, Kathmandu- Millions lost in the import of recharge cards worth crores of rupees from abroad. According to the data of the customs department, during the 10 months of the current financial year 2080/81, recharge cards worth more than 14 million 100 thousand rupees were imported.

It is seen in the statistics that 24 thousand 543 recharge cards were imported during this period. 4 million 883 thousand rupees revenue has been collected when these cards are imported. However, compared to the same period of the last financial year, the import of recharge cards has decreased. Recently, there are around a dozen mobile wallets. Similarly, mobile recharge can be done even from all banks. Banks keep the facility of 'topup' in the 'mobile app' launched for their customers. Due to this, the user has to buy the recharge itself has reduced.

For this reason, during the 10 months of the last financial year 2079/80, from May 9 to July 0, recharge cards worth more than 66 million 900 thousand rupees were imported. During that period, 129 thousand recharge cards were received. According to the data, the import has decreased by 52 million 800 thousand rupees. Similarly, during this period, the import of recharge cards has decreased by more than 150 thousand.
