Rescue Of Mules Stuck In The Bridge When The Log Of Suspension Bridge In Karnali Was Broken

Jun 09, Kathmandu- At least 14 mules transporting daily consumables from Achham to Dailekh were stuck on a suspension bridge over the Karnali River when an iron rod on one side of the bridge broke.

The mules were traveling from Panchadewal Binayak Municipality-9 in Achham to Aathabis Municipality-4 in Dailekh around 9:30 AM on Sunday morning when the accident took place. According to the police, two iron rods on one side of the bridge broke, causing the mules' feet to get stuck in the netting of the leaning bridge.

Teams of police, armed police and others from both districts have started rescuing the mules by now. As it was not possible to rescue the mules from the bridge, they were rescued by cutting the wire of the bridge.

The mules belong to Jore Rokamagar from Achham and Rajendra Bohra. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sunil Dahal, chief of the District Police Office in Dailekh, stated that a team from the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police has been dispatched for the rescue. However, the team sent from Rakam has not yet reached the site.
