Too many irregularities in information and technology sector: Minister Sharma

Jun 11, Kathmandu- Communication and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma has admitted that there are many irregularities in the field of information and technology.

Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu today, she said that the field of information and technology is not understood by the common people and is an area where there are many irregularities. She said that in order to control irregularities, the common people should be able to understand this area. He said that there is a need to be vigilant about the irregularities in this area. She said, "This field of information and technology is a field that the common people do not understand and there are a lot of irregularities. What should be done to control that irregularity, the common people should be able to understand this area. There should be caution from all sides. Just as everyone is aware of irregularities in other areas. However, they are not aware of the irregularities in this area. That is why it is important to make people aware of our past policies, rules, laws and regulations".

Minister Sharma said that the next financial year will be taken forward as the departure year of the information technology decade and information technology will be established as the pillars of the economy. He claimed that the goal was to develop Nepal as an information technology hub, to export services worth 30 billion rupees in the information technology sector in 10 years, and to create 5 lakh direct and 10 lakh indirect jobs. Minister Sharma said that the Digital Nepal Framework, which started in 2076, has not been effectively implemented.
