4.9 Magnitude Of Earthquake Reported In Fukushima Of Japan On Sunday

Jun 23, Kathmandu- A 4.9 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Fukushima in Japan on Sunday.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the coastal area of ​​Fukushima Prefecture at a depth of 50 km.

Due to the earthquake, no human casualties or material damage has been reported yet.

Japan is located at the meeting point of four tectonic plates, which makes it particularly susceptible to earthquake activity.

It is also the home of 100 active volcanoes. In 2011, a 9.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in Japan and a tsunami occurred.
