India's Bihar Marks Third Under-construction Bridge Collapse Within A Week

Jun 23, Kathmandu- A small bridge under construction collapsed on Sunday in Motihari (East Champaran) of Bihar, India.

According to Indian news agency PTI, this is the third incident of bridge collapse in Bihar in the last one week.

Officials said that there was no report of any casualty in this incident which took place in Ghorasahan block of Motihari. The Rural Development Department has said that a 16-meter long bridge under construction in the canal of Ghorasahan block has collapsed.

This bridge was built to connect Amwa village with other areas of the block. It is going to be built for one and a half million.

Earlier also on June 4, a part of the bridge built over the Ganges in Bihar's Khagaria was submerged in the river. This bridge was being constructed between Sultanganj in Bhagalpur district and Aguani in Khagaria district at a cost of around 1717 crores.
