Indian National arrested With A Pistol In Rautahat

Jun 24, Kathmandu- The Police Force on Sunday night arrested an Indian national in possession of a pistol.

The man was made public on Monday, and authorities said they were investigating the arrestee's background.

According to Superintendent of Police Bikram Humagai, chief of the Armed Police Force in Rautahat, 21-year-old Rahul Ram from the Indian state of Bihar was apprehended with a homemade pistol during a surprise security check in Gaur Municipality-2 near the Nepal-India border. SP Humagain said the man was nabbed while attempting to enter Nepal on a motorcycle.

The team inspected the Indian national’s motorcycle and discovered the pistol hidden inside a toolbox. Ram was accompanied by another Indian national who escaped to India.

Humagain said the team seized the pistol, a mobile phone, and the motorcycle for necessary investigation, all of which have been handed over to the district police office in Gaur.

“We are intensifying monitoring and inspection in the border area to prevent criminal activities,” he said.
