Battery Plant Explosion Kills 22 In South Korea

Jun 24, Kathmandu- 22 people have died in a fire at a battery factory in South Korea. 22 people were killed in a fire in a factory called Aricell. Among the dead, 18 are Chinese, one is from Laos, and one person has not been identified.

Eight people were injured in the fire, two of them are in serious condition. The factory had been manufacturing lithium batteries.

On the second floor of the company, batteries were being checked and packaged. The fire started from the same floor. Korean media reported that the cause of the fire is not yet known. TV footage showed small explosions at the burning plant, accompanied by the crackling sound of burning wires. The site is 45 kilometers south of the capital Seoul.
