More Than 60 Million Worth Of Expired Medicines Found In The Health Department

Jun 28, Kathmandu- It has been found that there are 57 different types of medicines and medicinal materials worth 65.2 million 1000 in the warehouse of the Health Services Department. 54 million 253 thousand purchased by the department and 10 million 949 thousand rupees received from grants and medicines and materials have expired.

According to the rules, the drugs and medicinal materials purchased by the department should be replaced by the drug supplier in case of expiry or in case of expiry. But after finding that the department has stored those materials, the Auditor General's Office has identified the need and suggested to purchase the goods and replace the expired medicines on time.
