Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Soren Released On Bail

Jun 28, Kathmandu- Hemant Soren, the former chief minister of the Indian state of Jharkhand and the leader of the Mukti Morcha, has been released from prison after five months.

He was released on bail from Birsa Munda Jail in Ranchi at around 4 pm on Friday.

After leaving the jail, he greeted the supporters and activists by shaking hands. His wife and lawyer were also seen along with him.

Soren was granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court in the money laundering case related to the alleged land scam.

The bench of Judge Rongan Mukhopadhyay gave bail on Friday.

The court has also ordered Soren to post a bond of 50,000 rupees. Soren was arrested by the ED in January last.
