Dengue Infection Among 1700 In Chitwan

Jun 30, Kathmandu- In Chitwan, dengue infection has been observed in 1 thousand 771 people.

Dengue infection was found in them during the tests from Shrawan last year until now.

Dengue infection has been observed in patients who came for treatment at various hospitals in Chitwan. According to Ram KC, Inspector of Vector Control of Public Health Office, Chitwan, 23,571 people were tested and found to be infected with dengue.

Among the infected, 1,268 people are from Chitwan.

KC informed that 665 men and 633 women were infected with dengue.

Similarly, 138 people whose address is not disclosed and 365 people who came here for treatment from districts other than Chitwan have been infected with dengue. KC said that one person died during treatment. The highest number of dengue has been seen in 664 people in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

187 people in Khairhani Municipality, 29 in Madi Municipality, 231 in Ratnanagar Municipality, 77 in Rapti Municipality, 26 in Kalika Municipality and 54 in Ichchakamana Rural Municipality have been infected with dengue. ​

Dengue is transmitted by the bite of an infected female mosquito. This disease was first seen in Chitwan in 2004.

KC informed that dengue infection can be prevented by sleeping with a swing, wearing clothes in the evening and morning, not allowing water to freeze in potholes, regularly cleaning tires, bottles and drums and not allowing water to freeze.
