Corruption Case Against 11 People Including Mayor And Deputy Mayor Of Katharia

Jul 04, Kathmandu- A case of corruption has been filed against 11 people including Mayor Ajay Prakash and Deputy Mayor Rita Devi of Rautahat's Katharia Municipality.

Spokesperson Narahari Ghimire informed that the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a corruption case against 11 people in a special court on Thursday.

A complaint was filed that the amount allocated for the work of tiles in the unfinished community building in Jamunia Bazar, located in Katharia Municipality Ward No. 2, was not done according to the cost estimate for the approval of the amount allocated for the work of tiles in 2078/079.

The Authority has filed a case against Mayor Prakash, Deputy Mayor Devi, Chief Administrative Officer Ram Prakash Shah, Engineer Rajesh Kumar Shah, Head of Planning Branch Ram Naresh Prasad Yadav, executive members Samish Bikram Shah, Manoj Prasad Jaiswal and Engineer Maqsood Alam.

A case has also been filed against Baudhimai Consumer Committee President Saroj Kumar Sah, Treasurer Babita Kumari Chaudhary and Secretary Yogendra Shah.

The work of laying the tiles was done through the Budhima Consumer Committee. The field was only 720.81 square meters. However, he had prepared a completed report of working 473.60 square meters more than what was done there.

According to the authority, the monitoring committee also gave a report that the work of the same amount had been completed and showed more work than the work done, and took more payment of 12 lakh 52 thousand 941 rupees.

They have demanded the amount of money against 11 people and also demanded imprisonment.
