UML Minister Resigned In Bagmati

Jul 08, Kathmandu- The minister of CPN (UML) participating in Bagmati province government has resigned.

On Monday morning, five ministers from UML submitted their resignations to Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel. From UML, Jagannath Thapalia was the Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning, Keshav Prasad Pokharel the Minister of Forests and Environment, Rameshwar Shrestha the Minister of Health, Eklal Shrestha the Minister of Drinking Water, Energy and Irrigation and Prakash Shrestha the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.

With the resignation of the minister, UML also withdrew its support to the government, said Thaplia, the leader of the provincial parliamentary party. With UML withdrawing its support, the government led by CPN (Maoist Center) Jamkattel has fallen into a minority.

With the agreement between the Nepali Congress and the UML to form a new government at the center, the province has also been affected. UML ministers participating in the provincial government are resigning and withdrawing their support to the government.

Earlier, the UML minister who participated in the Sudurpaschim government had resigned. Similarly, ministers from Maoist, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal and CPN (Unified Socialist) were dismissed in Madhesh province.
