Jul 14, Kathmandu- The Lalitpur Metropolis has removed the unauthorized structure in Balkumari on Sunday. The team led by Lalitpur Metropolitan Police Chief Sitaram Hachhethu has removed the structure.

According to Hachhethu, people have been living beside the banks of the Bagmati River for the past 25 years by constructing unauthorized structures. He said that the metropolis has taken action after the increase of unauthorized structures in the area recently.

The metropolis had written a letter 10 days ago to vacate the area by giving three days. However, as the time was running out, he was given another 7 days. As soon as the deadline expired, the team of the metropolis reached there today.

According to Hachhethu, there were 9 houses there. 2 of them had already vacated the place after the notice. He said that 7 houses that were not vacated were removed today.
