Simaltal Accident: Rescue team came from India to find missing passengers and bus

Jul 20, Kathmandu- A team from India with modern equipment will be mobilized from today to search for passengers and buses missing in Trishuli due to the Simaltal accident.

At the request of the Nepal government, 12 teams of the Indian National Disaster Response Force came from the accident site Simaltal to search for passengers in Narayani. The Indian rescue boat has reached Chitwan through Sonauli crossing.

According to Chief District Officer of Chitwan Indradev Yadav, after the administration informed the technical team of 12 people about the incident today, they will start searching from the spot. However, Chief District Officer Yadav said that it is not yet certain how long the search will take.

Prajia Yadav said that the search will be carried out in coordination with the Nepalese security personnel and rescue teams who have been engaged in the search since Friday before the date of the accident. He informed about the incident this afternoon and informed that he will go to the accident site.

Last Friday, the bus of Ganapati Transport, which was going to Gaur from Kathmandu, and the bus of Angel Transport, which was traveling from Bigunj to Kathmandu, carrying 65 passengers, were brought down in Trishuli by a landslide in Simaltal. Three passengers saved their lives by swimming while the rest went missing.

Among the missing people, 23 passengers have been found from the banks of the Narayani river in Nepal and India as of Friday evening. The rest of the passengers and the two buses have not been rescued yet.
