Jul 22, Kathmandu- Education Science and Technology Minister Bidya Bhattarai said that education and communication should be linked with technology.

In a program held in Lalitpur on Monday, Minister Bhattarai said that it is necessary to make the entire sector from journalism to technology-friendly and the government will also be serious about it.

She said that it is necessary to encourage women journalists who gather news about politics in the media.

Saying that 33 percent of women should participate in the media, she mentioned that the low participation of women is a matter of concern.

Bal Krishna Basnet, President of Press Council of Nepal, said that there is more trust in women journalists and it is important to bring and retain women in journalism. He says that the Council will help to enhance the capacity of women journalists.

Similarly, the President of Nepal Journalist Federation, Bipul Pokharel, opined that the presence of women in political matters should be strengthened and media houses should also make policies accordingly.
