'Search And Destroy Larvae' Campaign After Dengue Infections Rise

Jul 23, Kathmandu- With the increase in dengue infection, the Ichchhakamana rural municipality has conducted a 'search and destroy mosquito larvae' campaign.

Hari Bahadur Devkota, head of the health department of the rural municipality, informed that only a few days ago, the 'Search and destroy larvae' campaign was conducted in Muglin and Shanti Bazar areas along with the awareness about dengue disease.

He said that the program will be conducted in all the wards of the rural municipality. Health branch chief Devkota said, "We will conduct a 'search and destroy mosquito larvae' campaign in all wards and tolls of the village".

According to the data provided by the rural municipality, only 24 people were infected with dengue in one week of Shrawan. On Monday alone, seven people were infected with dengue. Devkota, Head of the Health Branch, informed that dengue infection has been seen in Ichchakamana Rural Municipality since Jestha and so far 58 people have been infected. According to him, among the infected patients, there are 55 people from Ward No. 5 alone. The remaining three people from Ward No. 3 and 4 have been infected with dengue.

Most of the infected people are living in Muglin market. According to him, there is more risk of infection in the market area of ​​the rural municipality. The public health inspector of the hospital, Nawaraj Adhikari, said that the infected people are being treated in the basic hospital. Free dengue testing has been arranged at the hospital.
