Test Match Between Ireland And Zimbabwe Begins Today

Jul 25, Kathmandu- The only Test match between Ireland and Zimbabwe starts today. This match will now start after 3:30 PM at the Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland.

Test cricket is going to be played between Ireland and Zimbabwe for the first time. Ireland will be captained by Andrew Balbirnie while Zimbabwe will be captained by Craig Ervine.

Ireland was recognized as a Test nation by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2018. Ireland is the 11th country. Ireland have won one match and lost seven matches in the eight Tests they have played so far.

Zimbabwe was recognized as a Test nation by the ICC in 1992. Zimbabwe has played 117 Tests so far, winning 13 matches and losing 75 matches, 29 matches ended in a draw.

Zimbabwe is the ninth and Ireland the eleventh country to recognize the longest format of cricket.
