Measles-rubella Found In Two Children Of Shuklaphanta

Jul 27, Kathmandu- Measles and rubella patients have been found in Shuklaphanta municipality-11 of Kanchanpur.

Measles and rubella was seen in an eight-year-old and 22-month-old child. Another 19 suspected patients have been found.

Suspected patients are being tested for measles-rubella or not.

In order to control and manage measles-rubella, the Ministry of Social Development of the Far West Province has mobilized manpower through necessary coordination and cooperation with relevant local levels, district administration offices and other relevant agencies.

The team of World Health Organization, Directorate of Health, Health Office Kanchanpur has separately reached the area where measles-rubella has been observed and conducted research studies.

The 22-month-old child received measles-rubella vaccination as part of regular vaccination at Deepnagar Basic Health Center, while the 8-year-10-month-old child came here after migrating from the hills. The vaccination program is going to be conducted in areas where measles-rubella is observed.

Hemraj Joshi, the contact person for epidemic control at the Directorate of Health Dipayal, said that there is a discussion on whether to apply it in the area where measles-rubella is present or whether to apply it in the entire municipal area or in nearby municipalities.

He informed that the vaccination campaign is being prepared for the prevention of measles and rubella.

Samples of drinking water and faeces have been collected from Dhangadhi sub-metropolis-1 Triveni Chowk area of ​​Kailali where cholera has appeared and testing is being done in the laboratory. Cholera appeared in two young men aged 23 and 26 in that area last Thursday.
