President Of India Murmu On A Foreign Visit

Aug 05, Kathmandu- Indian President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Fiji on Monday during her three-nation tour.

President Murmu arrived in Fiji during a state visit at the invitation of his Fijian counterpart, Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere. During his stay in Fiji, he is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with Fiji's counterpart Katonivere and Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.

After his visit to Fiji on August 5-6, he is scheduled to visit New Zealand and Leslie in Timor. In Fiji, President Murmu is scheduled to address the parliament there and interact with Indian diaspora.

In the second phase of the visit, President Murmu will visit New Zealand from August 7 to 9 at the invitation of New Zealand Governor General Cindy Kiro. During his visit to New Zealand, President Murmu is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings and meetings. In New Zealand, President Murmu is scheduled to address an educational conference and interact with the Indian community.

In the final leg of the visit, President Murmu is said to travel to Timor Leste at the invitation of Timor Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta. She will also meet with the Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, Xanana Gusmão.

It is said that President Murmu's visit to Fiji, New Zealand and Timor-Leste will emphasize the importance India attaches to bilateral relations with those countries and will focus on the 'Act East' policy announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the ninth East Asia Summit ten years ago.
