US Presidential Election: Support accelerates in the favor of Harris

Aug 18, Kathmandu- Vice President Kamala Harris, the candidate of the Democratic Party in the US presidential election, will hold important events in Pennsylvania and Chicago this week.

It seems that her election campaign continues to gather support day by day as she reaches various places in the state to spread her campaign in the states that are considered important for victory.

In the US presidential election, which has been overshadowed by the protests against Israel's war in Gaza, her discussion has started to heat up day by day.

President Joe Biden backed his aide, Harris, about a month ago, withdrawing his candidacy from the election. Riding a wave of excitement in the campaign, Vice President Harris will address rallies in various locations across the state of Pennsylvania with her campaign slogan against her well-known Republican rival, Donald Trump.

Harris, 59, will then travel to Chicago to welcome Democrats fans. After her campaign undermined Trump's chances of a lead in the Chicago polls, Trump expressed hope last week that he would regain control of the situation there.

Trump expects thousands of protesters to descend on Chicago every day from Sunday to protest against the Biden-Harris administration's support for Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza.

Demonstrations are expected to begin on Sunday and continue on Thursday. At this time, it is said that the main meeting of the Democratic Party will be held especially on Monday and Wednesday.

The four-day campaign for the Democratic Party will also be fresh in the midst of a tumultuous election cycle after Trump's assassination attempt and the surprise exit of 81-year-old Biden.

The Republican candidate and former president Trump, who started his campaign saying that he is still energetic compared to Biden, the oldest presidential candidate in American history, who cannot do anything, has suddenly found himself in trouble. With Biden's decision to withdraw from the candidacy, his support for Vice President Harris has made him the oldest candidate according to Trump's claim.

Trump has been personally insulting and criticizing Harris, despite Republicans urging him to stay on the issue. While on his way to a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, former President Trump called Harris a "lunatic," saying he was "much better" than Harris.

Pennsylvania is considered one of the most competitive states in rural America.

As it could decide the 2024 election race, candidates are making frequent visits to the region.

Harris, the Democratic Party candidate, made an important campaign decision with Tim Walz on Sunday. She announced the program to attract poor working-class voters in western Pennsylvania before starting a bus tour from Pittsburgh.
