First Payment Made To Hybrid Power Projects By India To Sri Lanka

Aug 29, Kathmandu- Jha handed over the payment to Sulakshana Jayawardene, Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA).

The project aims to meet the energy needs of the people of the three islands that are not connected to the national grid. According to the statement, India has contributed 10 million US dollars for this project.

Earlier on August 23, during a visit to the eastern province of Jha Island, he discussed various projects of India in a meeting with Governor Senthil Thondaman and Minister of State for Trade and Environment S Vialendiran.

Earlier on August 22, Jha interacted with representatives of Batticaloa District Chamber of Commerce and Batticaloa Chamber of Commerce and Industries and advised to increase B&B engagement with India.
