Sep 01, Kathmandu—The women's league football organized by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) will be inaugurated today.
The opening match at ANFA Complex Satdobato Lalitpur will be at 3 PM, and the competition will be between Koshi Province and Walling Municipality. Admission is free for this inaugural match.
According to ANFA spokesperson Suresh Shah, the women's football league will be divided into two phases. 10 teams will compete in the first round. Three departmental teams - Tribhuvan Army, APF, and Nepal Police Club - will participate in this phase. In addition, two teams from the A, B, and C division clubs - Sankata and Bagmati - two teams from municipalities - Walling and Chandrapur municipalities - and the best three teams from the qualifiers - Koshi, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali will compete in the first round.
The tournament aims to raise the standard of women's football, improve the skills of local players, and increase the popularity of football throughout the country.
