Inspector General Of Police Kunwar's Request To Unite Against Crime

Sep 01, Kathmandu- Inspector General of Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar said that organized and transitional crime is emerging as a challenge in the world and said that we should move forward unitedly against such crimes. On the occasion of the Second International Police Coordination Day, 2024, Inspector General of Police Kunwar said that organized crimes in different countries cannot be controlled by unilateral efforts alone in the 'Walkathon' program organized by the Crime Investigation Department of the Nepal Police Headquarters on Sunday.

Kunwar said that crime can be controlled only through cooperation, sharing of information and coordination among all nations. He said that the program is a symbol of our unity and commitment for global peace, security and justice.

Inspector General of Police Basant Bahadur Kunwar and Senior Project Manager of UNOPS Stephen Anthony Otter jointly launched the walkathon by flying a banner with the words "International day of Police cooperation, 2024" tied to a balloon.

Kunwar, Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal, Chief Investigative Director of National Investigation Department, retired Inspector General of Police, Additional Inspector General of Police, retired Additional Inspector General of Police, Assistant Rathi of Nepal Army, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Senior Police Officers, media personnel, with the participation of other specially invited dignitaries and police officers, the march started from the Nepal Police Head Office and passed through Darbar Marg, Kesharmahal, Narayanhiti and reached the Nepal Police Head Office in the closing ceremony.

In line with the announcement of September 7 as International Police Coordination Day on the occasion of Interpol Foundation Day, Walkathon has been organized this year also in the context of organizing various events.
