Sep 02, Kathmandu- The government has prepared an appeal in the Supreme Court in the extortion case against cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane.
On Sunday, the High Public Prosecutor's Office has sent the file with the opinion to the Supreme Court in the case against Sandeep to the Attorney General's office.
Lamichhane, who was convicted by the Kathmandu District Court in the rape case, was acquitted by the High Court of Patan.
After the acquittal of Patan High Court, Gaushala-26 (changed name), who is said to be the victim in that incident, submitted a petition to the Attorney General's Office asking that the case not be taken forward.
The attorney general's office has prepared to take the case forward with the petition given by Gaushala-26, who is said to be the victim.
Earlier, Gaushala 26, who filed a rape case against cricketer Lamichhane on 11th Shrawan, filed a petition in the High Court not to appeal to the Supreme Court against the verdict given by the Patan High Court. However, her application will not stop the case as he is going to appeal to the Supreme Court.
Gaushala 26 had submitted a petition to the High Public Prosecutor's Office on Jestha 2 last against the decision of the Patan High Court acquitting Sandeep.
