Students Won't Be Awarded With The Education Medal As The Finance Ministry Has Not Yet Provided The Budget

Sep 12, Kathmandu- The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is celebrating National Education Day on Ashwin 2. On the occasion of the day, individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions in the field of education are also being honoured. The ministry has also requested an application for that. Applications have also been received on behalf of individuals and organizations who have fulfilled the specified criteria.

It is seen that the various medals awarded by the ministry will be limited to the announcement this time as well. As the Ministry of Finance did not provide the necessary budget for the medal, it seems that it will be limited to the announcement. The Ministry had requested applications for Nepal Bidhya Bhusan class 'Ka', 'Kha' and 'Ga', Nepal Chhatra Bidhya Padak class Ka and Kha and Nepal Technology Nepal Bidhya.

Those who fulfilled the various conditions were asked to apply within 16th of Bhadra. The application was made on the same basis. However, due to lack of budget, the medals cannot be given, the ministry said. An official of the ministry said that due to lack of budget, the medals will not be awarded this year as well.

Even on the Education Day of 2080, only the medals were announced and the names of the medal winners were placed on the website. This year too, names of individuals and organizations who will receive medals will be announced and placed on the website. The Ministry has been awarding medals to Nepali citizens who have obtained qualifications from any university or study establishment within Nepal and foreign universities for obtaining 'Nepal Bidhya Bhusan Ka, Kha and Ga and foreign nationals who have completed their studies in a recognized educational institution within Nepal and obtained the prescribed qualifications.

Similarly, for the Nepal Female Academic Medal 'Ka' and 'Kha', the medal is awarded to a female student who studies as a regular student at the graduate level of a university within Nepal and obtains the highest number of marks or grades in the final examination in that faculty or study institute or school.

On Bhadra 31, 2080, the Ministry of Education awarded Nepal Bidhya Bhusan, Nepal Chhatra Bidhya Padak and Nepal Technology Bidhya Bhusan to 962 people. However, they have not awarded the best students till now. The Ministry has been awarding Nepal Bidya Bhushan 'Ga'  to the best undergraduates, Nepal Bidya Bhushan 'Kha' to the best postgraduates and Nepal Bidya Bhushan 'Ka' to those who have obtained the title of Bidyawaridhi.

The Ministry has arranged a budget of 6 million rupees to celebrate Education Day. However, a separate budget has to be arranged for those medals. For that, a budget was requested from the Ministry of Finance. The official of the ministry said that the medal will not be given if the Ministry of Finance does not provide the budget.
