Maoists Blocks Parliament Until The Word 'Violence' Is Removed From The Record

Sep 13, Kathmandu- The main opposition party CPN-Maoist Center concluded that there was an attempt to humiliate the federal parliament on the People's War and decided to strongly counter it.

Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey informed that the MPs of CPN-UML have expressed against people's war, federalism and republicanism not only in words, but also in intention, and decided to maintain the obstruction of parliament.

"Honorable Yogesh Bhattarai of UML expressed that by insulting everything from the peace agreement to federalism and republican constitution", he said, "We have also protested. Whatever we did, we did it right. The violence came from focusing only on words. There was talk of insulting the People's Liberation Army and the People's War. A meeting has been called on the 30th. But it has been decided to continue the blockade until the problem is resolved".

CPN-UML MP Yogesh Bhattarai, while speaking at the House of Representatives meeting held on Bhadra 12, explained the people's war as 'violence'. Speaker Devraj Ghimire instructed the secretariat to investigate the matter after the Maoist center raised objections.

After the investigation, in the House of Representatives meeting held on Bhadra 26, Speaker Ghimire announced the decision not to remove it from the records of the Parliament. About which CPN-Maoist had discussed in the parliamentary party meeting on Friday.
