China Launches Population Sample Survey

Sep 16, Kathmandu- The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has announced that China will conduct a comprehensive population sample survey across the nation in 2025 to assist in tracking the country's demographic changes.

The NBS has announced that approximately 14 million individuals, representing around five million households or 1 percent of the nation's population, will be surveyed starting November 1 of the following year.

Chosen participants will be requested to provide fundamental information, including their age, gender, educational attainment, marital status, and living conditions.

China started its first population sample survey in 1987. So far, four such surveys have been conducted.
