Demand To Provide Relief To Victims Of Natural Calamities

Sep 16, Kathmandu- The MPs have demanded to provide timely relief to the victims of natural calamities such as floods, landslides, inundation and avalanches. In the meeting of the National Assembly on Monday, they mentioned that their life is becoming difficult because the victims could not get relief in time and emphasized that relief should be provided as soon as possible.

At the zero hour of the meeting, MP Narayana Datta Mishra said that due to the flood in Kailali, the habitat has become unsafe and it is affecting the agricultural sector.

Member of Parliament Sonam Gyalzen Sherpa drew the attention of the government saying that the victims of the avalanche have not yet received relief and their residences are not safe.

"The victims of the avalanche have not yet been able to get relief, their residences are not safe, so the government should provide timely compensation for their rehabilitation and the victims' families," he said.

Member of Parliament Yuvraj Sharma said that if the work of the National Pride project takes more than the stipulated time, the cost of the project will increase and he suggested to complete the construction work of the project on time. MP Rajendra Laxmi Gaire and MP Suresh Kumar Alemagar also expressed their opinion at zero time.
