12 Bills Passed By The National Assembly

Sep 16, Kathmandu- The National Assembly has passed 12 bills in the current 16th session and sent them to the House of Representatives. Among them, the Bills that have been passed by both Houses and certified include the Records Protection (First Amendment) Bill, 2077, Food Hygiene and Quality Bill, 2077 and Security Printing Bill, 2077.

The bills are The Commission on Investigation of Missing Persons (Third Amendment) Bill, 2079, The Appropriation Bill, 2081, The Finance Bill, 2081, The Nation Borrowing Bill, 2081, The Customs Revenue Bill, 2081, and The Nepal Investment Facilitation (Amendment) Bill, 2081.

Currently, Media Council Bill 2080, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Bill 2081, Tilganga Eye University Bill, 2081 and Nepal Legal Practitioners Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 are pending in the Legislation Management Committee under the National Assembly. The Nepal University Bill, 2079 and the Public Service Broadcasting Bill, 2077 have been passed by both the Houses but are in the process of being verified by the President. The Safe Transaction (First Amendment) Bill has also been sent to the House of Representatives from the Assembly.

In today's meeting of the National Assembly, Speaker Narayan Prasad Dahal informed that 40 meetings had been held during the session that started from May 28. During this period, proposals of urgent public importance related to reducing traffic accidents were discussed in the assembly and unanimously approved.

During the session, the meeting was informed that the question and answer program started with the Prime Minister and Ministers and that one written and eight oral answers were received from the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers during the session. The National Assembly has started zero time work to be kept every day during this period. President Ram Chandra Paudel, on the recommendation of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Government of Nepal, has ended the current session from 12 o'clock tonight.
