Sep 19, Kathmandu- Supporters of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Chief (Mayor) Balen Shah were beaten up on Durbarmarg. After raising slogans in favour of Balen, another group of youths beat up a youth.

Participating in the National Day concert which started at 4 pm, the youth chanted Balen's name. The police said that the identity of the persons who assaulted them has not been identified and they are searching for them. An attempt was made to stop the group of five people after they attacked the youth. After the beating, the youth ran away from there.

On the occasion of the Constitution Day, a large number of young people have participated with the national flag in the concert, which is said to have been held at the civic level. Anand Karki, Kunti Moktan, Devika Bandana, Sugam Pokharel, Deepak Limbu, Pramod Kharel, Siwani Moktan, Swapna Suman and others will be performing in the concert. It is said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will also participate in the concert.

A high security alert has been adopted at the venue. Inspector General of Police Basant Bahadur Kunwar also monitored and inspected the venue. According to Police Central Spokesperson DIG Dan Bahadur Karki, more than 3,000 security personnel have been mobilized at the venue.
