Prime Minister Oli Leaves For America

Sep 20, Kathmandu- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has left for America to participate in the United Nations General Assembly. He left for New York in America a while ago.

Deputy Prime Minister Prakashman Singh and members of the Council of Ministers bid farewell to him.

Prime Minister Oli is accompanied by his wife Radhika, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Prime Minister's Chief Advisor Bishnu Rimal, Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal and senior officials of the Government of Nepal.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to address the General Assembly on Ashwin 10.

This year, the United Nations General Assembly will discuss the theme of 'Leaving no one behind: working together for peace, sustainable development and the development of human dignity for the present and future generations'.

Prime Minister Oli will address the topic of 'Nepal's Journey to Democracy and Economic Prosperity' to be held at Columbia University on Ashwin 7. He will participate in the opening session of the general debate of the General Assembly on Ashwin 8 and the reception organized by the President of the United States, Joe Biden, on Ashwin 9.

In addition, he is scheduled to address the program on the topic of 'Nepal's Perspective: From Transitional Justice to Climate Justice' at the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum at Harvard University on Ashwin 11.

During his stay in New York, Prime Minister Oli will also address the conference as the chairman of the Global Coordination Bureau of Least Developed Countries. In addition, there is a program to address the group high-level meeting on the existential threat posed by sea level rise and the high-level meeting on 'antimicrobial' resistance.

During his visit to the US, Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to meet UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and hold bilateral talks.

Prime Minister Oli will return to the country on Ashwin 14.
