293 Dead, 89 Missing Due To Floods In Myanmar

Sep 20, Kathmandu- Myanmar's national daily "The Mirror" reported that the death toll due to floods in Myanmar has reached 293 and 89 people are missing.

According to the report, the flood has affected various regions and states of Myanmar and until Thursday, 161,592 flood victims from 47,19 households have taken shelter in 425 relief camps.

According to the report, 766 thousand 586 hectares of crops were inundated and 129 thousand 150 animals died.

Due to the low pressure effect in the Bay of Bengal due to the storm named 'Yagi', heavy rains and widespread flooding have occurred in Myanmar.

Local authorities, rescue organizations and residents are working together to distribute food and other necessary materials for the flood victims including sanitation and health services in the flood-affected areas.
