EV Charging Station In Lokaha

Sep 21, Kathmandu- A charging station for charging electric vehicles has been opened at Lokaha in East Nawalparasi under the Mahendra Highway.

A charging station service has been started in Kawasoti Municipality-11 Lokaha so that 5 electric vehicles can be charged at the same time. The service started here from the first week of Ashwin.

Bishnu Adhikari, a young businessman from Kawasoti, started the station on about 5 acres of land connected to the highway. The service has been started so that there is a facility to charge the electric vehicles that travel through the Mahendra Highway,' said the official, 'Vehicles come for charging every day from the morning.'

He said that charges are taken according to the battery capacity of the car. There is no official government standard on how much to charge. This is the first charging station to be launched on the 114 km stretch of Mahendra Highway's Butwal Narayangadh road. There is also an arrangement of toilets for the convenience of passengers.

He plans to start a car garage and a coffee shop at the station soon. The official informed that 15 more vehicles will be made capable of being charged at one time within the next one year.
