US President Holds Talks With The Prime Minister Of Australia

Sep 21, Kathmandu- US President Joe Biden met with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Wilmington, Delaware on September 20.

During the meeting, both sides thanked each other for their partnership and reviewed the bilateral relations. Emphasizing that the US-Australia alliance is at the core of the bilateral relationship, the leaders discussed progress on its three pillars: defense and security, economic and climate, and clean energy.

Both leaders reflected on the strong economic ties between the two countries and discussed the progress made over the past two years to modernize the alliance to meet new challenges, including climate change and the clean energy transition.

They also reiterated their commitment to expand cooperation to build critical mineral supply chains and accelerate the transition to clean energy in line with the compact signed in May 2023 in Hiroshima, Japan.

The two leaders also discussed their support for maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, continued cooperation in defending Ukraine against Russia's brutal aggression, and their support for a lasting ceasefire and increased humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

Also, the senior leaders of the two countries expressed their commitment to deepen the bilateral partnership to advance their common vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific. Meanwhile, Albanese released a photo with Biden and said that Australia and America stand together for peace, prosperity and stability.
