Nepalgunj Customs: Collection of three billion revenue in two months

Sep 21, Kathmandu- The Nepalgunj Customs Office, which is located at the main trade point in western Nepal, has collected about three billion rupees in revenue in two months of the current financial year.

According to the information given by the Nepalgunj Customs Office, revenue of 2 billion 994 million 435 thousand 4 rupees has been collected in Shrawan and Bhadra of the current fiscal year 2081.082.

Information Officer of Nepalgunj Customs Office Purna Prasad Lamsal informed that the revenue collection has increased by more than 140 million rupees in the first two months of the current fiscal year as compared to the revenue collection of 2,865,278,000 rupees in the same period of the last fiscal year.

He said that in the month of Shrawan of the current financial year, 1 billion 503 million 34 thousand rupees and 1 billion 495 million 200 thousand rupees were collected in the month of Bhadra.

According to the Customs Office, although Nepalgunj Customs has given a target of collecting more than two billion in revenue every month, looking at the collection of the last two months, there is an indication that the revenue collection is only about 30 to 35 percent less than the target.

According to the Customs Office, the main reasons for the collection of revenue below the target are the increase in theft, the non-restoration of six small customs offices in the districts that were displaced during the armed conflict, and the decrease in imports.
