Nepal has succeeded in managing the peace process: Minister Rana

Sep 27, Kathmandu- Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has said that Nepal is making final preparations for the decisive point of establishing peace by managing the conflict internally.

Addressing a ministerial meeting of the United Nations Forum on Peacebuilding, Minister Rana noted that Nepal's federal parliament recently passed a law on transitional justice and made it a victim-friendly law.

The Forum held a meeting this year on the theme of Reassessing the Roadmap for Peacebuilding for 2025: Prosperity and Priority.

Minister Rana said, "In today's world, the peacebuilding process has become a complex subject, and the real cause of conflict must be identified for the sustainability and stability of society".

Next year, it is necessary to re-evaluate the concept of the 2025 peacebuilding process and move it forward sustainably and efficiently.

Minister Rana suggested that the Peacebuilding Commission should move forward strategically in partnership with bodies such as the Security Council, the General Assembly and ISCoS.

Recalling that Nepal is the birthplace of the apostle of peace, Gautam Buddha, Minister Rana stressed the need to focus on building a peaceful and violence-free society based on positive thinking, behavior and recognizing the value of culture.
