Terror Of A New Viruses Arises After Corona And Mpox

Sep 30, Kathmandu- Since 2020, the whole world is dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. So far, this virus has made more than 700 million people its victims. After the coronavirus, monkeypox i.e. mpox killed people all over the world. It has become a major health hazard today. A new infectious disease between Corona and Mpox has increased the concern of health experts.

An outbreak of the Marburg virus has been observed in the East African country of Rwanda. So far, 26 people have been confirmed infected. Due to this, 6 people have died. According to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO), seven of Rwanda's 30 districts have been infected with the virus.

Out of 26 people, 20 are serious. Everyone has been kept in isolation. About 160 people who came in contact with the infected are being monitored. World health experts have issued an alert about its increasing threat in African countries. Marburg virus has been described as challenging in several respects.

Its death rate is up to 88 percent which has become the biggest concern for experts. This virus is believed to belong to the Ebola family. It was also found infected earlier. Like the coronavirus, it is transmitted from bats to humans. There is a risk of transmission from one person to another due to coming into contact with the body fluids of an infected person.

WHO has appealed to everyone to be vigilant in trying to prevent the virus and minimize the complications that may appear in the infected. Experts say that serious attention should be paid to clinical care and infection prevention and control. According to WHO, there is currently no specific treatment for this virus, nor is there any vaccine to prevent it.

Efforts are being made to develop drugs and immunotherapies. Rwanda's Ministry of Health is stepping up contact tracing and testing, along with measures to prevent the spread of the infection. People have been advised to follow social distancing to avoid infection.
