Nepali Ophthalmologist Engaged In Treating The Eyes Of Injured People In Bangladesh

Oct 09, Kathmandu- Nepal's eye treatment services are gaining reputation in the international arena.

Recently, there has been an increase in the number of citizens of the Indian border area and also citizens of other countries coming to Nepal's eye treatment centers for services. On the other hand, the services and research carried out by Nepal's ophthalmologists abroad are said to be excellent.

Nepali ophthalmologists Sushila Patel and Sabita Dhakal are providing expert services in Dhaka to the injured who had eye problems during the Bangladesh movement. Lumbini Ophthalmology Study Institute and Research Center Rana Ambika Shah Eye Hospital Bhairahawa, run by Nepal Ophthalmology Association, sent doctors there to treat the eyes of the injured.

According to hospital manager Prakash Rayamajhi, Dr. Patel is an associate professor of cornea surgeon and Dr. Dhakal is an in vitro retina surgeon working in the hospital. They went to Bangladesh at the request of National Institute of Ophthalmology Dhaka.

According to Pratik Pandey, information officer of the hospital, Nepali doctors have been providing specialist treatment services in Dhaka since Ashwin 18. This process will continue till Ashwin 23rd.

During the movement, especially in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka, children with eye injuries, children with deep injuries, blindfolded, injured with eye injuries, blood in the eyes, along with the treatment of patients who have problems, including surgery, have been done.

Recently, eye patients from Bangladesh are coming to Nepal individually for treatment. According to the association's statistics, in 2023 alone, more than eight lakh patients from various countries, including India and Bangladesh, received eye treatment through the association's network.
