Public Transport Worth 730 Million Damaged Due To Floods And Landslides

Oct 10, Kathmandu- On Ashwin 11th and 12th, due to the incessant rains across the country, there has been a loss of nearly 730 million rupees in the public transport sector.

According to the information provided by the National Confederation of Nepal Transport Professionals, the damage equal to 729.8 million 800 thousand has been caused due to incessant rain. Among the damages, West Nepal Transport Bus Business Pvt. Ltd. lost 118.88 million 80 thousand, Namaste Nepal Transport Business Pvt. Ltd. 28.5 million, and Gorkha Daroodi Transport Service Company lost 6 million, said Vijay Bahadur Swaran, president of Mahasangh.

Similarly, Bagmati Tipper Traders Association, 200 million of Nepal Truck Tipper Traders Association, Rs. 66 million 500 thousand Mahakali Traders Multi-Purpose Company Pvt. General Secretary of Mahasangh, Deknath Gautam, informed that after collecting the details of the damage in the public transport sector across the country, it was submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Department of Transport Management yesterday.
