Oct 12, Kathmandu- President Ram Chandra Paudel offered Tika and Jamra to the common people on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami, the great festival of Hindus.

According to President Paudel's personal secretariat, after giving Tika and Jamra to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, MPs, Heads and members of constitutional bodies as offerings of Navadurga, they also started giving Tika to interested common people. Today, President Paudel offered tika to all those standing in the queue who wish to receive tika and jamra from the hand of the president. It is reported that hundreds of people are queuing up to receive Tika and Jamra from the President.

On the day of Vijaya Dashami, thousands of Nepali people receive tika and prasad from the head of state as the guardian of the nation. This tradition, which was continued by the king during the monarchy, has been continued by the presidents after the establishment of the federal democratic republic.
