Oct 12, Kathmandu- The Katari-Ghurmi road of Udayapur on the blocked Siddicharan highway has been opened after the dry landslide. The road blocked by landslides in Bhadaure located in Katari municipality-14 since Friday morning has been eased since Saturday.
Kamal Bajgai, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Katari, informed that the road has been opened. "After tireless efforts till yesterday evening, the road has been opened", he said, "The road has been reopened by bringing a big loader in coordination with the road office at Harkapur in Okhaldhunga."
No matter how much the landslide was removed, it took time to restore the road as it continued to fall from above. "Until this morning, the landslide continued from above, but due to continuous efforts, the road has now been opened," said Superintendent Bajgain. .
Due to the blocking of this road section, there was a problem for the passengers going to Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu from the eastern cities of Koshi province and those coming from the Terai region from the hilly districts. Amber Bahadur Magar, the ward president of Katari-14, said that after the road block was removed, the vehicles started to move.
The Mirchaiya-Katari-Ghurmi road office, Katari and the police were on duty till Friday night to operate the road. According to the police, the road was operated day and night after the passengers were stopped during Dashain.
