Oct 14, Kathmandu- Preparations are being made to put the BP highway into operation from tomorrow.

Preparations have been made to operate the highway from tomorrow after preparing diversions in the damaged areas by this evening. Suman Yogesh, CDE of Road Division, Bhaktapur, said, "The road has collapsed in many places, diversions have to be made without digging. All diversions will be ready by this evening." The BP highway will be operational from tomorrow.

He requested to operate the vehicle with caution even though diversions have been made to travel as an alternative. He also informed that the division office has requested not to drive on this highway at night. The division office has prepared a track ditch diversion after about 8 km long road of Bhakundebesi Barshekhola section (Kavre) of BP highway was completely washed away due to the landslides that occurred after the incessant rains from October 10th to 12th. After the diversion is ready, it is said that the vehicles previously permitted to operate on the BP highway will be eligible for careful operation.
